Position Overview
Hours: 40 Hrs. Weekly Hours may be flexible as necessary to achieve program objectives, tasks, activities, responsibilities and to effectively document outcome measures and variances.
Summary Description:
The Bay Area Turning Point Victim Advocate Resource Specialist is responsible for processing all donations of client food, clothing, hygiene products, etc. and scheduling appointments with clients to fill their personal needs list. This individual will also pick up donations from local stores, businesses, and individuals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Acquisition, inventory, storage and management of all donated items.
- Disposal of unusable donated items
- Work with volunteers who will assist with processing donations, keeping client clothing closet and household items stocked
- Maintain knowledge of overall Agency objectives, activities and client services.
- Schedule appointments with clients who need access to clothing and household items
- Assist clients in finding the items they need. If not available, keep a list and attempt to fulfill client need with incoming donated items.
- Maintain a friendly, welcoming environment at the client clothing and household room.
- Pick up donated items from community partners
- Process all donated items
- Attend and actively participate in Agency staff meetings and trainings.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education and Other Requirements
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple and changing work load with an attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate openly and clearly, both orally and in writing, model leadership and team work
- Ability to make logical decisions that are reflective of the philosophy and mission of the agency
- Possess sensitivity to clients and volunteers and understand the Agency's position within the community and with related social service providers.
- Ability to lift/carry/move a minimum of 50 lbs. for an extended distance.
- Must have a clean driving record and be insurable.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
